Our Story

I (Gabe) got into the DJ game in 2009. I started in bars and clubs and quickly moved into the wedding business.  Starting from scratch, I invested in equipment, moved fully into weddings and private parties, and continued to grow as a business all by word of mouth.

When I got married in 2016, I hired Ty Gorman on a limb, having heard good things.  Ty did not disappoint. He blew everyone away, including a super skeptical DJ purist (me).

As gigs kept flowing in, we both saw the value in joining forces and partnering together.  Starting in the beginning of 2018, we have been a team, DJ Gabe Real Music LLC.

Meet The Team

Simeon

I’m Simeon. Two of my greatest passions are for music and for seeing people happy. I put those passions together over half a decade ago and started DJing! I’m a very eclectic music listener, and I think that helps me to meet the various tastes that each crowd may have. No matter the genre, I make sure to do my best to facilitate a fun night. Because there’s nothing better than the candid reactions when the right song comes on at the right time, and that’s my goal for every song I play!I’m a very eclectic music listener. My parents raised me on a wide range of music, and from there my love, appreciation, and tastes for music have only expanded (and continue to). This is what helps me the most as i’m DJing. With a wealth of knowledge and expansive library that covers every genre, Im able to meet the various tastes that each crowd may have. So whatever vibe you need, I’m sure to be able to facilitate a memorable night for you and your guests. Because there’s nothing better than the candid reactions when the perfect song comes on at the perfect time, and that’s my goal for every song I play!

There is nothing like being able to kill the music and have the crowd screaming the lyrics without missing a beat. Or playing what the crowd thinks is a familiar song but it turns out to be a remixed version that they go wild for. People love sharing new music with their friends or being the one to grab the aux cord and put on a song that has people saying "Man what's the name of this song?" DJing is like an extreme version of that. When you do well, you can tell by the crowd reaction, and it's super satisfying. My style is simple...Adaptable. Personally I primarily love edm and rap but as I like to say, "I don't discriminate!". If a song is good, a song is good. That's regardless of the artist, genre, age or whatever else. I like good music - plain and simple. However, I understand that "good music" is subjective. That's why I say my style is adaptable. To me, my job is to play what's best for the event and the crowd. Regardless of my own favorites, that's what I do. I'll play anything from Frank Sinatra to Katy Perry to Future to Tiesto. If you want to keep it traditional that's fine, and if you want to turn it into a night club that's also fine. It doesn't matter. Whatever gets the people going is what I will play.

Gabe

I started DJing in 2009 in bars and clubs just to pay the bills.  I quickly fell in love with DJing, and after DJing my first wedding in 2010, I knew I found my passion.  It was an 11:00 am, dry, brunch wedding and the dance floor was packed the whole time.  I figured, "if I can get it poppin at this wedding, maybe this is a calling!"

I saved up for my own equipment and starting in 2013, I was DJing 15-25 weddings a year.  I haven't stopped since.  There is not many feelings greater than getting the party started and sustaining packed dance floors filled with family and friends letting loose and having the time of their lives! I pride myself in getting all age groups on the dancefloor and creating a seamless journey of unforgettable fun.

"Chameleon" is the word I would use to describe my style. I believe that hands down the most important quality of a DJ is to be able to read and react to the crowd, and feed off of their energy.  Fortunately there is no genre that I cannot get excited about and my library is 40,000 songs deep with playlists that I have been crafting for 13 years.  So I would say my style totally depends on the vibe of the party. I play whatever it takes to keep the dance floor poppin.

In my journey as a DJ for the past 13 years, I have kept my ear to the ground and my eyes peeled for like minded DJ's that share my convictions and values.  I added Ty to my team in 2017, Zoe in 2020, and Simeon in 2021.  I couldn't have drafted a better team!

Zoe

Hey, I’m Zoe (not Zoey 😊) and I began DJing naturally when I would go to parties or bars and always end up with the aux cord. As a musician, music affects how I feel and the mood of a room. I only DJ sets that are unique and create a mood that is special to event I’m providing music for. If I had to choose a desert island decade of music, it would be the 70s, but I’m a Gen Z girl so I’d still thrive with the voices of my generation - Beyoncé and Dua Lipa (duh). Primarily a violinist, I’m often playing shows in Philly or NYC with local bands, my own music, and played over 100 weddings in 2021. As a DJ, I’m flexible, flourish under pressure, and keep the dance floor packed.
